MH-CET Pattern & Syllabus
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) for law is organized by the government of Maharashtra to facilitate admissions into both 3-year and 5-year law programs within the state. Introduced in 2016 by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), this exam serves as a centralized entrance test for students aiming to enroll in various government law colleges across Maharashtra. Each year, approximately 15,000 candidates participate in the MH-CET for the 5-year law program.
Eligibility Criteria
For MAH LLB (5 Years)
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the 10+2 examination.
- Minimum Marks in the Qualifying Exam:
- 45% in aggregate for Open, SEBC, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, as well as all India candidates.
- 40% in aggregate for candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories from Maharashtra.
- 42% in aggregate for candidates from the VJNT, SBC, and OBC categories belonging to Maharashtra.

MH-CET Law Syllabus
Legal Aptitude & Legal Reasoning
This section covers topics such as Indian polity, including the roles of the Executive, Judiciary, and Legislature, as well as law propositions related to facts and the Constitution.
General Knowledge with Current Affairs
It includes questions related to Indian geography, significant current events, and recent laws and amendments.
Logical & Analytical Reasoning
Students will encounter reasoning by analogy, argument completion, conclusion drawing, puzzles, blood relations, and series.
English
This section assesses vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms, analogies, idioms and phrases, sentence improvement, rearrangement, and fill-in-the-blank questions.
Mathematics (Only for 5-year LLB)
Topics include speed and distance, profit and loss, time and work, and basic algebra.
