With just 5 months remaining for CLAT 2025 and clock ticking quite fast day by day it becomes really important for the CLAT aspirants to get a grasp on the fundamentals that would help us sail through the national level law entrance test and achieve a rank which would help us get into our desired Law Universities. As we know this section is a tie-breaker and played a huge role in clat 2024 when paper was super easy and students were tied down at the same marks.
Here, I’ll be sharing few handy tips that would help score 25+ in Legal Reasoning Section and fire up your Clat ranks:

DO NOT APPLY EXTRA KNOWLEDGE
This happen a lot with students who write CLAT, even when I used to attempt mocks I faced the same issue. Since we are already grappled with the core legal concepts we are bound to blindly start applying the principles thinking that this would save us time, without going through the passage properly.
This can cost you some really precious marks. Always train your mind to start from 0 whenever you are reading a legal reasoning passage, take 15-20 seconds extra but make sure you’ve understood what the passage is about, what it wants to deliver and what it actually leads to. This way you can save yourself some marks which the other students might lose by applying external knowledge and going out of the scope of passage
2. LEARN THE PRINCIPLES YOU HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT EARLIER FROM MOCKS
If you come across a passage in mocks which you have not heard about earlier (for e.g. Specific Relief Act), start searching for the law on the web in simplified terms. This way, if next time you come across any passage on the same law, you will have an inkling about where it leads to!
3. PRACTICE 1 SECTIONAL DAILY
I know how hard this sounds since we are already bounded by dozen more things to do, but one sectional, every day, till your CLAT exam can do wonders for your practice.
4. YOUTUBE VIDEOS FOR TOPIC YOU FACE DIFFICULTY IN UNDERSTANDING
Just write the name of the law on YouTube, watch a video on 2x and you will be good to go. Now, the next time you will come across a passage on the same topic, you will be more familiarised with it. (Pro Tip: watch Sanyog Vyas law classes on YouTube if you face difficulty in Never-heard-before Contract Law passages)
5. READ ILLUSTRATIONS FOR CRIMINAL LAW
